Jacques Brel
Jacques Romain Georges Brel (April 8th 1929 – October 9th 1978) was a Belgian singer and actor who composed and performed literate, thoughtful, and theatrical songs that generated a large, devoted following—initially in Belgium and France, and later throughout the world. He is considered a master of the modern chanson[1].
Sandie Shaw covered his single "Ne me quitte pas", released in November 1959, with her cover being released nearly 10 years later in November 1967.
